MAGIC TIGER ART
Children's Classes and Holiday Workshops
Why Magic Tiger? I have always adored and been fascinated by tigers…since I was a very little girl. I used to constantly carry a toy tiger with me, and draw and draw and draw them, They were my first muse!
With wildness and beauty combined…a bit like the creative process it just felt right for me to name my art sessions for children ‘Magic Tiger’
My vision was for a child to step into the Magic Tiger studio and feel that it is a protected special space to be creative.
Art helps with necessary fine motor skills, confidence, self expression and well being.
When children are encouraged to express themselves and take risks in creating art, they develop a sense of innovation and confidence that they can carry into their adult lives. Society needs people who are forward thinking, inventive people who seek new ways, improvements and innovations not those who can only follow directions.
The arts allow us to explore new worlds, they encourage individuals to develop their skills and to nurture both imagination and intellect.

One of the greatest delights in working with children is the freshness with which they see the world in unexpected and imaginative ways.
Witnessing art; through a child’s eyes is a constant joy, they help us remember the authentic and spontaneous in life!
All sessions are guided and facilitated, with teaching on use of materials and observational drawing skills, yet also giving your child the space they need for their own individual self expression and artistic choices.
They include good quality artists materials, and quality heavy weight papers.
Having run group sessions for 8 years I now focus on 1-1 and small group mentoring.
This allows for very individual and creative support for each child. I have children who have been coming to me from Primary age to teens, which I consider a great testimony to how much they get from my sessions, and the strength of relationship we foster during this time.
The age range tends to be from 6-15 years,
We often take time at the end of project to show the work made and share what you particularly enjoy or admire about others work. The children really respond to this, they are often very insightful and it helps articulate feelings around creativity and self expression. Shyer children may prefer to just listen and to join in naturally, if it feels comfortable for them.
The most important thing is that the children feel happy, confident and safe so they can enjoy their creative time and self expression.
I hope this is the case, as I have children returning year after year, my classes are usually full with a waiting list.

We often work inspired by nature, being in beautiful rural Sussex, it is all around us. Animals feature highly in the Children’s artwork
I introduce the children to well known artists, we find out a bit about their life and work and will often then do a piece inspired by that artist.
We will sometimes look at the work of a certain culture and country and do artwork inspired by this.
Your child will work in a wide range of mediums.
Charcoal, pencil, graphite. Chalk and Oil pastels. Acrylic and Watercolour paints. 3d work. Pen and Indian inks. Printmaking
