Artwave 26 "Between Root and Star'
Always a special time of year for me when I open the doors to my studio for the first three weekends in September. The fact it is in my own space means I can curate the whole vision for it and create a world to share, which I love!
My new collection is called 'Between Root and Star'
It's a celebration of nature and wildness and the imagined stories running through the land.
Ancient cultures often understood trees as living worlds. Places where birds, animals, insects and people all belonged within one great living story.
My paintings imagine that understanding where creatures are both guest and guardian.
Roots, wings, earth and star each shaping each other in an endless cycle of belonging.
What a wonderful first weekend!
The sharing and meeting visitors at my open studio is a total delight at the end of a long time of solitary creating.
