I love the thought of a landscape containing hidden layers of lost treasures beneath us, while roots grow around them and the world above carries on.
There is something mysterious, but also comforting, in the idea that not everything disappears. Some things are simply absorbed into the story of the land.
Painted on wood in earthy browns, ochres, rust reds and deep charcoal, the surface itself carries marks, grain and irregularities that add to the feeling of age and unearthed history.
